My dear brothers and sisters,

“I’m in Heaven !” ” This is “Heavenly!” These are expressions we sometimes hear and say when things are going perfectly well or they appeal to all our senses in the most exquisite and fitting manner. Heaven, we have been taught is a place of complete peace and happiness, perfection and union with God. In most recent times, we have been told that Heaven is not a place but a state of being. We need not wait for physical death to experience Heaven. Heaven can be experienced right here, right now when we ourselves work for peace, for justice and for love. Without the grace of God, we cannot achieve much success. Greed, pride, self interest get in the way.

Our Blessed Mother Mary has “come down from Heaven” many times to visit simple folk in the hillsides to make them relay to us Her message of how much Jesus loves us and to request us to PRAY. Pray, she has repeatedly said and done with the likes of Juan Diego, Bernadette Soubirous, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. Her constant appeal was “Pray!” Prayer she said, is the way to avert trouble, to end wars, to call sinners to Her Son and to bring peace to the World.

Certainly, we all want peace. We want peace among our family members, among nations and peace in our hearts. Many people when asked where they want to go when they die would say, “Heaven!” It is also called the Kingdom of God. Jesus Himself said that the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed. It starts so small and yet it can grow huge and useful. Our call to pray the rosary daily may be a small gesture for each of us. But it could grow to be a huge, vital catalyst for us to change hardened hearts and to lessen human suffering in all its forms. The rosary will be our primary tool to bring Heaven in our midst. The rosaries we offer daily are like roses to beautify and spread that fragrance of true wholeness all over the world. It is not a daunting task if we do it together! Let us join hearts and hands as we say our steadfast, constant, simple Hail Mary’s daily for our brothers and sisters all over the world to make the Earth a haven of peace and brotherly love.

Extravagant displays of devotion to Mary gets curtailed as world culture emphasizes the rational, scientific and technological aspects of life. There seems to be no more time for the more affective expressions of religion.

Then, after a while, people get fed up with the absolutely rational and logical culture, and rediscover religion and the affective part of the human soul and its needs.

And Mary is one of those.

Love and support for Pope Francis
The Church is certainly a human and historical institution with all that entails, yet her nature is not essentially political but spiritual: the Church is the People of God, Holy People of God making its way to encounter Jesus Christ. Only from this perspective can a satisfactory account be given of the Church's life and activity.

Christ is the Church's Pastor, but his presence in history passes through the freedom of human beings; from their midst one is chosen to serve as his Vicar, the successor of the Apostle Peter.

Yet Christ remains the center, not the Sucessor of Peter: Christ, Christ is the centre.

A Million Roses for the World
A gift of love, faith and goodwill from the people of the Philippines. Pope Pius IX once said: “Give me an army praying a million rosaries a day and we will conquer the world.” We are not out to conquer the world…but to save it for God to whom it rightly belongs.
